Tomosynthesis, or 3-D mammography, is a revolutionary technology allowing radiologists to better identify and characterize individual breast structures.

Using 3-D mammography, radiologists can scroll through the layers of the breast in one-millimeter increments, rather than viewing all layers of tissue superimposed.

This layer-by-layer approach removes overlapping breast tissue, which can hide lesions and allows radiologists to view a mammogram in a way never before possible.
